Job Description:
A Business Development Manager is required for this prestigious financial services organisation.
You will be responsible for generating, delivering and maintaining new business with key external customers throughout the financial services world, namely global trading exchanges. The purpose of the Business Development Manager is to manage sales from initial lead generation through to handover to the delivery team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology / IT sales namely within the exchange traded derivatives arena, electronic trading / multilateral trading (MTF) or investment banking. Exchange trading or MTF experience desirable.
Because of the diverse nature of external sales a wide variety of tasks may be required of the Business Development Manger.
Key duties include;
* Identifying and qualifying prospects independently or in conjunction with other internal groups.
* Developing prospects into qualified sales leads.
* Providing functional, technical or commercial input to proposals, RFP responses or Market Design Studies.
* Shaping deals and defining commercial terms.
* Working with the legal team to draft contracts.
* Negotiating and closing contracts with clients.
* Mobilising the delivery project for hand-over to the client delivery.
* Management of key client relationships to grow the value of the accounts.
Key Accountabilities;
Business Development Managers are accountable for:
* Effective management of a region, business domain or group of prospects.
* Compiling and reporting on business development and sales targets.
* Completing lead qualification and resource request processes.
* Managing agreed business development budgets.
* Delivering designs, reports or proposition documents on time and to the client's expectations.
* Obtaining the necessary management, legal and financial approvals to submit commercial bids.
* Closing business at agreed commercial terms.
* Achieving revenue targets on managed accounts, regions, business domains or groups of prospects.
Skills Required;
Essential:
* Experience of commercial sales of complex technology solutions, or the delivery of technology solutions to external clients.
* Experience of dealing with external clients on complex sales or delivery projects, or experience of management of key accounts in the financial technology sector.
* Experience of compiling, responding to or evaluating RFP and RFP response documents.
* Experience of successful management of commercial project budgets.
* Knowledge or experience of cash or derivatives trading in an Exchange or MTF.
Desirable:
* Management of complex commercial bids.
* Management of multi-vendor technology delivery projects.
* Commercial contract negotiation or cost estimation and margin analysis of commercial sales prospects.
* Sales forecast preparation and reporting.
