Job Description:
Delivery Manager required to work for a dynamic organisation in the North East, responsible for leading the team on one/two of the companies operational divisions. This is a permanent role with a salary in the region of £50-£60K and offering comprehensive benefits to include: Contributory pension, Life assurance and 23 days annual leave + public holidays.

OVERVIEW:

The companies business information and systems team develops and supports the underlying infrastructure and systems to support large numbers of employees across the UK. The infrastructure is currently based around an Oracle and Java based enterprise strategy for the major operational platforms.

The business support team consists of 5 groups: an infrastructure team, 3 customer facing development & support teams and a services team. You will lead the Divisional delivery team focusing on one or two of the operational divisions, to deliver development and support services for both software applications and infrastructure elements specific to the division.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Manage the divisional team, establishing work programmes, monitoring and assessing work performance and identifying training needs
*Ensure all project based work is completed on time every time.
*Preparation of detailed business cases, project plans, estimates etc
*Preparation of divisional and project budgets and business cases.
*Critical review of project documentation through the project lifecycle
*Contribute to the senior management team

MUST HAVE SKILLS
*Proven track record of managing, mentoring and developing diverse IT teams in an enterprise environment
*Management / direction of a number of successful major database and web based deliveries in a commercial environment.
*Extensive senior Project/ programme management experience
*Project management methodologies experience (AIM, Prince 2) and under a formal quality regime (ISO9001)
*Significant project / programme finance and budgeting experience.
*Management and negotiate effectively with service providers.
*Degree level education
*Exposure to Oracle products
*Broad knowledge of current issues and advances across all IT disciplines (eg internet and network architecture, telephony, security, databases, packaged applications) with practical experience of internet, client/server, data warehousing, ERP, SCM, CRM, SOA/integration, collaboration, mobile and portal technologies.
*Experience of preparing and monitoring SLA's
