IT Manager success at Warnaco / Calvin Klein Jeans

Background:

Warnaco is the holding company for a number of large designer and sporting goods brands. The Group became a client of Matt Hancock’s in 2009 when he was given a permanent role to recruit for.

The role was for an 'IT Manager' that required someone who was prepared for European and Worldwide travel as part of the role. The role already existed within the company and Matt’s task was to find a direct replacement for a high calibre member of the company who was now leaving.

The primary objective of the role was to continue developing a comprehensive infrastructure for support and service for their London office, which is the central office for the Group’s European operations.

In addition, the role would also provide the important provision of IT Services for all the retail stores throughout the UK and Europe.

The recruitment process:

What enabled Matt to particularly excel within recruiting for this role was that he took the time to undertake a site visit in order to assess the environment and role in greater detail. This also enabled him to take a very detailed and thorough job specification in order to fully understand the role and the type of candidate required.

Even though the candidate requirements were very specific, Matt and the resource team were able to draw up a shortlist of highly appropriate candidates and within just a 48 hour time period.

Testimonials and Feedback:

The European IT director had this to say about Matt’s service:

“First of all I would like to compliment you on your choice of candidates – I was really impressed with the level of fit and that, I believe, is down to your selection process.”
