Job Description:
Linux System Admin is sought to work for a prestigious company in London to be responsible for the administration of Linux based 24x7 mission critical Server and Applications in their Live, Disaster Recovery and test environments.
Main responsibilities include:
* Administration of Linux based server infrastructure including configuration and maintenance of O/S
* Ensuring robust systems are in place for the deployment of patch and major system upgrades.
* Performance of daily housekeeping tasks
* Capacity and performance management
* Administration of databases used for transaction processing and back office systems.
* Providing 24x7 support
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
* 2nd / 3rd line support, daily system admin, MySQL, Pearl scripting, Apache, Tomcat, IPtables, Samba Linux / Windows Integration, RDBMS, NIS / NFS, Kickstart, TCP/IP.
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
* RHCE Certification, Network clustered file system, LVS Clustering / Load balancing, Redhat Cluster suite exposure, SELINUX policy editing, Database clustering, Cisco, etc.
