We are a large prestigious telecommunications company and we are currently looking to recruit a UNIX Application Support Consultant to join our team. You'll have the opportunity to get to grips with new cutting-edge technologies and work to on the whole life-cycle of exciting new projects.

This is a permanent role paying up £45,000p/a and will be based in the Warwickshire area.

The skills and experience are as follows:
In-depth commercial experience of UNIX or Linux operating systems
Experience of the following Databases: SQL, Oracle, Remedy
Knowledge of the following programming languages; Perl, Unix Scripting
Experience of Full project Life cycle
Knowledge of ICT -networks

Desirable skills as follows:
Telecoms experience preferable
Experience of any of following preferable; C, C++, Java, S-Lang, Expect

Main Responsibilities:
Provide proactive monitoring of Applications including general health checks and validation of output data
Incident management
Diagnosis and problem resolution
Supporting business users
Provide assistance with ad-hoc configuration changes; routine maintenance and responding to support calls

The role will occasionally require out of office support, but this will be reflected in the overall benefits package.
